Join Sunday Stories.

With our cohort membership model, like-minded women unlock a world of bespoke events and retreats that encourage sisterhood and storytelling. Sunday Stories welcomes a hand-picked cohort of 40 women based in Metropolitan New York City and Washington DC on an annual basis.

Upon acceptance, members are welcomed into Sunday Stories for one year, creating space for intentional connection amongst each cohort and the opportunity for other women to experience the magic of community over time. The current membership fee is $150, a one-time fee that covers the member for the entire one-year term. This fee helps the nonprofit organization offset the cost of events and experiences.

Sisterhood Events

Exclusive events designed to foster intimate fellowship among women. Each event features a storytelling component that encourages sharing and genuine connection. Ranging from gatherings of 15 to 40 women, these quarterly events offer an intimate setting to plant the seed for sisterhood relationships.

Annual Retreat

The annual retreat unites the NYC and Washington DC cohorts for a dedicated weekend of sisterhood. Through a blend of social, cultural, and wellness activities, the retreat offers a comprehensive weekend to connect. Guided by a retreat book selection, the itinerary and discussions are thoughtfully aligned to deepen each attendee’s experience.

Digital Community

Members enjoy continuous access to our digital community chat for information sharing and real-time engagement. Additionally, our monthly newsletters deliver sisterhood resources, events, and community news directly to subscribers’ inbox.

*The membership fee is billed only upon acceptance into Sunday Stories and is utilized to cover upfront community expenses. Please note that certain events may have additional associated fees. We believe in ensuring access to social well-being for all Black women. If cost poses a concern, please inform us.

Membership FAQs

  • The $150 membership fee directly supports our leadership team in covering upfront costs for events and event add-ons, such as space reservation fees and decor. While this fee contributes to event expenses, there may still be additional costs for certain experiences. Additionally, the retreat fee is separate from the membership fee.

  • We limit each cohort to 40 women to prioritize intimacy and foster a community where genuine connections thrive. This intentional size allows everyone to feel seen, fostering diversity and meaningful story sharing. It's a deliberate choice for intimacy compared to the scale of Read Between the Wine, which accommodated over 600 women.
